Today’s atrocities are tech atrocities. From Facebook’s impact on the genocide in Myanmar to Israel running its genocidal campaign in Gaza on systems supported by some of the biggest names in the sector, tech is implicated in crimes arising from war and repression. But we all use the same tech. This is unacceptable. But is it unavoidable? Is there no atrocity-free tech? Sure there is. We sat down and came up with a list, a ‘whitelist’ to be precise.
